Pigs:
treatment of animals with metritis-mastitis-agalactia syndrome, as well as respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to marbofloxacin.
Dosage and administration
Cattle at a dose of:
for the treatment of respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible strains of Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica, and Histophilus somni, intramuscularly at a dose of 8 mg of marbofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight (2 ml of the drug per 25 kg of body weight) once
for the treatment of acute mastitis caused by strains of E. coli, intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of 2 mg of marbofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight, equivalent to 1 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight once a day. The course of treatment is 3 days. The first administration may also be given intravenously. If the dose exceeds 20 ml, it should be divided and administered in two or more areas.
Pigs:
intramuscularly at a dose of 2 mg of marbofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight or 1 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight once a day. The course of treatment is 3 days.
For cattle and pigs, the drug should be administered into the neck area. To determine the correct dose, it is necessary to accurately measure the body weight (as far as possible) to avoid administering an insufficient dose. The vial cap can be safely pierced 30 times.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones or other components of the drug.
Do not use if a pathogenic microorganism resistant to other fluoroquinolones (cross-resistance) has been identified.
