SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Antibacterial product for the treatment and prevention of postpartum intrauterine infections in farm animals. Effective in endometritis, metritis, and retained placenta.
COMPOSITION:
1 tablet contains:
• Chlortetracycline hydrochloride — 1000 mg
INDICATIONS FOR USE:
• Acute and chronic endometritis
• Metritis
• Retained placenta
• Prevention of postpartum complications after difficult or complicated parturition
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Chlortetracycline is a tetracycline antibiotic with bacteriostatic action. It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, as well as rickettsiae, mycoplasmas, spirochetes, and chlamydiae.
Particularly sensitive organisms include: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Brucella spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Corynebacterium spp., Klebsiella spp.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Administer intrauterinely.
Cows:
• Prevention — 1 tablet once within 24 hours after calving
• Treatment — 1–2 tablets per animal
Sheep, goats:
• Prevention — ½ tablet once within 24 hours after lambing/kidding
• Treatment — 0.5–1 tablet per animal
Treatment may be repeated after 48 hours if necessary.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
• Meat — 10 days
• Milk — 4 days
SPECIAL WARNINGS:
Administer only when the cervix is sufficiently open (immediately after parturition).
STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store in a dry, cool place protected from light.
Storage temperature: +15 to +25°C
SHELF LIFE:
• 3 years
