• Oxytetracycline (base) — 800 mg

Excipients: colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, lactose.

INDICATIONS FOR USE:
Calves and swine — treatment of respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to oxytetracycline.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Oxytetracycline is a bacteriostatic broad-spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline group. Its mechanism of action consists of inhibition of protein synthesis through binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit and reduction of cytoplasmic membrane permeability in susceptible microorganisms.

It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, mycoplasmas, chlamydiae, rickettsiae, spirochetes, and some protozoa.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Calves:
Administer orally with milk, milk replacer, or drinking water at a dose of 20 mg oxytetracycline or 25 mg of the product per 1 kg body weight every 12 hours.
Duration of treatment — 3–5 days.

Swine:
Administer orally with drinking water or feed at a dose of 50 mg oxytetracycline or 62.5 mg of the product per 1 kg body weight per day.
Duration of treatment — 4–6 days.

Group administration (calculation of daily dose):
[(A × B × C) / 1000 = Oxi-Kel 80% per day]

Where:
A — average body weight (kg)
B — number of animals
C — dose of Oxi-Kel 80% (mg/kg)

For administration in drinking water (per 1000 L):
[(A × B × C) / D = Oxi-Kel 80% per day]

Where:
D — daily water consumption (L)

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
• Calves — 7 days
• Swine — 3 days

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in ruminants with fully developed forestomachs, in animals with renal or hepatic insufficiency, or in cases of hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Possible binding of tetracycline to calcium with deposition in bones and teeth; photodermatitis in animals with low skin pigmentation; very rarely, allergic reactions.

INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PRODUCTS:
Do not use simultaneously with products containing calcium or other polyvalent cations, or with penicillins and cephalosporins.

4 years
After first opening of the primary packaging — 28 days
