Intramammary Suspension (for Dry Cows)
DESCRIPTION:
An oily suspension from white to yellowish in color, specifically developed to protect the mammary gland of cows during the dry period. Provides a prolonged antibacterial barrier and supports udder tissue recovery until the next lactation.
COMPOSITION:
1 syringe-tube (10 ml) contains the following active ingredients:
• Cephalexin monohydrate — 200 mg
• Neomycin sulfate — 340 mg
• Cloxacillin benzathine — 500 mg
• Vitamin A — 10,000 IU
Excipients: chlorobutanol, aluminum stearate, white petrolatum (paraffin), peanut oil.

ATC-vet code: QJ51 — Antibacterial veterinary products for intramammary use.
CEFA-SEC is a long-acting combination product that includes three antibiotics from different groups and vitamin A for comprehensive protection and restoration of the mammary gland.

- Cephalexin (cephalosporin) disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis and is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens (E. coli, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp.).
• Neomycin (aminoglycoside) inhibits bacterial protein synthesis and exerts bactericidal activity, enhancing the antimicrobial effect of the combination.
• Cloxacillin benzathine provides prolonged activity against mastitis pathogens, including penicillin-resistant strains (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus agalactiae, S. uberis, S. dysgalactiae).
• Vitamin A supports regeneration of the udder epithelium, protects tissues, and reduces the consequences of inflammation.

INDICATIONS FOR USE:
For administration to cows during the dry period:
• Treatment of subclinical mastitis;
• Prevention of intramammary infections during the dry period.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
After the last milking, the contents of one syringe-tube are infused into each quarter of the udder following cleaning and disinfection of the teat.
The syringe-tube is equipped with a DUO-CAP system allowing:
• Partial insertion (teat sphincter area);
• Full insertion directly into the teat canal.
After administration, gently massage the treated quarter to ensure even distribution.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
• Do not use during lactation.
• Hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
• Meat — 21 days
• Milk — 45 days after the last administration
PRESENTATION:
10 ml polymer syringe-tubes packed:
• In cartons of 24 units;
• In plastic containers of 48 units.
STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store in a dry, dark place out of reach of children at 15°C to 30°C.
SHELF LIFE:
3 years from the date of manufacture.
