Cefokel 5% is a modern cephalosporin based on ceftiofur, developed for effective treatment of bacterial infections, including those caused by pathogens resistant to other antibiotics.

COMPOSITION:
1 ml of the product contains:
• Ceftiofur — 50 mg
Cefokel 5% is a ready-to-use injectable suspension.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Ceftiofur belongs to “new-generation” cephalosporins characterized by:
• High activity against resistant Gram-negative bacteria;
• Reliable efficacy against Gram-positive pathogens (including streptococci);
• Resistance to β-lactamases.
Active against:
Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Streptococcus suis, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides spp.
After administration, ceftiofur is rapidly metabolized into its active form, which:
• Binds effectively to plasma proteins;
• Concentrates at the site of infection;
• Remains active in inflamed and damaged tissues.
INDICATIONS FOR USE:
Cefokel 5% is indicated for the treatment of:
• Bacterial respiratory diseases;
• Foot rot;
• Postpartum metritis;
• Other infections susceptible to ceftiofur.
Suitable for:
Cattle, sheep, goats, swine, horses, dogs, and cats.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
🔹 Subcutaneous administration:

- Cattle, sheep, goats
1 mg ceftiofur/kg body weight
or 1 ml Cefokel 5% per 50 kg
Once daily for 3–5 days - Dogs, cats
2 mg ceftiofur/kg body weight
or 1 ml per 25 kg
Once daily for 3–5 days
- Cattle, sheep, goats
🔹 Intramuscular administration:

- Swine
3 mg ceftiofur/kg
or 1 ml per 16 kg
Once daily for 3–5 days - Horses
2 mg ceftiofur/kg
or 1 ml per 25 kg
Once daily for 3–5 days
- Swine
If the injection volume exceeds:
• 15 ml — cattle and horses
• 10 ml — swine
• 5 ml — calves, sheep, goats, dogs
Divide the dose and administer at multiple sites.
Shake well before use.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

- Swine: meat — 5 days
• Cattle, sheep, goats, horses: meat — 8 days
• Milk — no withdrawal period
- Swine: meat — 5 days
