Description
COMBIKEL 40 — an effective antibiotic for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections in farm animals.
Solution for Injection
COMPOSITION:
1 ml of the product contains:
• Procaine benzylpenicillin — 200,000 IU
• Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate — 200 mg
INDICATIONS FOR USE:
Treatment of animals with diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to benzylpenicillin and dihydrostreptomycin, including:
o Otitis
o Peritonitis
o Mastitis
o Meningitis
o Leptospirosis
o Actinomycosis
o Erysipelas
o Actinobacillosis
o Polyarthritis
o Septicemia
o Respiratory diseases (bronchopneumonia, rhinitis, laryngitis, pasteurellosis)
o Genitourinary diseases (pyelonephritis, nephritis, endometritis)
o Skin and soft tissue infections
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
• Procaine benzylpenicillin is a β-lactam antibiotic with a broad bactericidal spectrum against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Pasteurella spp., Clostridium spp., and others.
• Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic active against Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Leptospira spp., Mycoplasma spp., and others.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

- Cattle, horses: 10 ml per 200 kg body weight once daily (intramuscularly or subcutaneously).
- Swine, sheep, goats: 2.5 ml per 50 kg body weight once daily (intramuscularly or subcutaneously).
- Dogs, cats: 0.5 ml per 5 kg body weight once daily (intramuscularly).
Treatment course: 3 days.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
• Meat: slaughter permitted 30 days after the last administration.
• Milk: permitted for consumption 4 days after the last administration.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
• Hypersensitivity to penicillins or dihydrostreptomycin.
• Do not use in animals with impaired renal function.
• Do not administer intravenously.
INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PRODUCTS:
• May be used with sulfonamides and salicylic acid esters.
• Do not use simultaneously with tetracycline or other aminoglycosides.
SHELF LIFE:
• 3 years from the date of manufacture.
• After first opening of the vial — 28 days.
STORAGE CONDITIONS:
• Store in a dry, dark place at 2–8°C.
PRESENTATION:
• 100 ml and 250 ml glass vials.
