Intramammary Suspension
COMPOSITION:
Each syringe (9 g) contains:
-
- Active substance: Cloxacillin benzathine — 1000 mg
- Excipients: Butylated hydroxytoluene, aluminum monostearate, liquid paraffin
INDICATIONS:
-
- Treatment of cows during the dry period for subclinical mastitis.
- Prevention of potential infections during the dry period.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Cloxacillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic active against:
-
- Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Corynebacterium pyogenes
- Gram-negative bacteria: Neisseria spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Cloxacillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, exerting a bactericidal effect.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Administer one syringe (9 g) into each quarter of the udder after the last milking.
Before administration, the udder should be washed and disinfected.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

- Milk: May be used for human consumption 96 hours after calving.
If calving occurs earlier than 42 days after administration, the milk may be used 42 days plus 96 hours after treatment. - Meat: Meat may be used for human consumption 28 days after the last administration.
- Milk: May be used for human consumption 96 hours after calving.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:

- Do not use in lactating cows.
- Do not use within 42 days prior to calving.
- Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance.
USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:

- Do not use in lactating cows.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR PERSONS AND HANDLERS:

- Penicillins and cephalosporins may cause allergic reactions.
- In case of accidental contact and the development of allergic symptoms (skin redness, facial or eye itching, difficulty breathing), seek medical advice immediately.
- Wash hands thoroughly after handling the product.
SHELF LIFE:
3 years from the date of manufacture.
Store in a dry, dark place at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
