Intramammary Suspension
For the treatment of acute mastitis during lactation
INDICATIONS:
The product is intended for the treatment of acute bacterial mastitis in cows, sheep, and goats during lactation. Effective against microorganisms sensitive to the components of the product.
COMPOSITION (PER 10 G SYRINGE-TUBE):
• Procaine benzylpenicillin — 300,000 IU
• Kanamycin sulfate — 100 mg
• Prednisolone — 20 mg
Excipients: white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Combined product with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity:
• Benzylpenicillin — bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria;
• Kanamycin — broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic;
• Prednisolone — reduces inflammation, edema, pain, and capillary permeability; exerts antiallergic effects.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
• The contents of one syringe-tube are administered into the affected quarter of the udder after complete milking and proper disinfection.
• After administration, gently massage the udder to ensure even distribution of the product.
• If necessary, repeat treatment after 12–24 hours.
Sheep and goats: administer ½ syringe-tube into the affected gland following the same procedure.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
• Meat — 4 days
• Milk — 3 days
Until the end of the withdrawal period, animal products must be discarded or fed to non-productive animals according to the veterinarian’s recommendation.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to penicillin or aminoglycoside antibiotics.
STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store in a dry, dark place out of reach of children at 2°C to 8°C.
SHELF LIFE:
24 months.
PRESENTATION:
Plastic boxes containing 20 syringe-tubes of 10 g each.
