INDICATIONS

For swine and poultry.

Betamint is used as an anti-stress supplement and for correction of water–electrolyte balance during heat stress in poultry and swine in hot seasons (elevated temperature and humidity in housing facilities).

    • Prevention of electrolyte imbalance, acid–base disorders, protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism disturbances, fatty liver degeneration, decreased productivity, and structural changes of the gastrointestinal mucosa during heat stress.
      • Recommended for prevention of transport stress syndrome (live weight loss during transportation, hematomas, bruises, fractures).
      • Improves sow fertility and promotes weight gain in young animals.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

    • Poultry (prevention of heat and transport stress):

Dissolve 1 L of Betamint in 1000 L of drinking water and administer for 3–5 days at the onset of hot weather and before transportation.

During prolonged heat periods:
Dissolve 2 L of Betamint in 1000 L of water and administer for 5 days.

If heat stress symptoms are pronounced (depression, elevated body temperature, panting, rapid shallow breathing, reduced appetite and productivity, increased hematocrit, erythrocytes and total protein), continue administration.

    • Sows:

During summer, administer continuously in courses of 5–7 days with 14–20 day intervals between courses.
