Description

Water-Soluble Powder

COMPOSITION

Amoxicillin 70% — a highly concentrated powder containing 700 mg/g of amoxicillin, equivalent to 817.7 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

Amoxicillin 70% is indicated for the oral treatment of bacterial infections in swine and poultry:

    • Gastrointestinal tract: enteritis, gastroenteritis, enterocolitis
      Respiratory tract: bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, rhinitis
Genitourinary tract: metritis, endometritis, cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis
Skin infections: wounds, abscesses, navel infections, arthritis
      • Infections caused by bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin

PROPERTIES

Amoxicillin 70% is an acid-stable, broad-spectrum penicillin with good oral bioavailability. Due to its high solubility and stability in drinking water, it is ideal for mass medication via water or feed for systemic and gastrointestinal infections. It is also suitable for pulse dosing in small volumes of water.

PHARMACOLOGY

Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin that inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis at the bacterial cell wall level. It has a bactericidal effect against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. However, some bacterial species, particularly those producing penicillinase, are resistant.

Amoxicillin is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. It does not accumulate in the body after repeated dosing and distributes effectively into tissues. Most of the drug is excreted unchanged via the kidneys.

DOSAGE

Amoxicillin 70% is administered orally via drinking water.

• Broilers:

14 mg amoxicillin per kg body weight per day, or 20 mg Amoxicillin 70% per kg body weight per day for 5 days.
The dose is dissolved in drinking water.

Dosage calculation formula:
20 × A / B = Amoxicillin 70% per 1000 L of water

A — average body weight (kg) × number of animals
B — daily water consumption (liters)

• Swine:

10–20 mg amoxicillin or 15–30 mg Amoxicillin 70% per kg body weight, twice daily for 4–5 days.

Mix the calculated dose in 10 L of drinking water until a homogeneous solution is obtained, then add the required volume of water that the animals will consume within 12 hours.
In poultry, the dose may be administered in the volume of water consumed within 2 hours.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

    • Swine: 2 days
      • Poultry: 1 day

Do not use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.

ADVANTAGES

    • High concentration of active substance
      • Excellent water solubility
      • Stability for up to 12 hours after dissolution
      • Short withdrawal period

STORAGE

Store in a dry place protected from light at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
